Wrote Plath . . .
"From the tip of every branch, a wonderful future beckoned and winked. One fig was a husband and a happy home and future, and another fig was a famous poet and another fig was a brilliant professor, and another fig was Ee Gee, the amazing editor, and another fig was Europe and Africa and South America, and another fig was Constantin and Socrates and a pack of other lovers with queer names and offbeat professions, and another fig was an Olympic lady crew champion, and beyond and above these figs were many more figs I couldn't quite make out. . .I just saw myself sitting in the crotch of this fig tree, starving to death just because I couldn't make up my mind which of the figs I would choose. I wanted each and every one of them, but choosing one meant losing all the rest, and, as I sat there, unable to decide, the figs began to wrinkle and go black, and one by one they plopped into the ground at my feet." Excerpt from Sylvia Plath's The Bell Jar (1963)

Most Cherished
Ocean Therapy
This morning I took a drive to Woods Hole, MA, purchased a delicious soy latte from one of my favorite coffee shops "Pie in the Sky'" then drove over to a spot on the bike path to watch the vineyard ferries pass by. I had some wonderful reflective time for myself and then headed home with a wonderfully inspiring rainstorm to keep me company.

Girl Talk
'i just, ugh, i'm so stressed out. . .i feel old. i feel like i look really old these days, do you think i look old? i mean, i'm noticing more wrinkles and there are girls older than me who look younger and. . .'
'shut up. you don't look old and you don't have f*cking wrinkles. you always say that it's so ridiculous"
'you don't think so? maybe i should start exfoliating'
'maybe you should start by shaving your legs!'

Saying Goodbye
These last few weeks have been overly stressful for me. I mean, I've always been an easily excitable/upset-able type person but I've been going through some exceptional drama which has lead to some feeling not so good and noticing some extra lines on my face. So, I'm taking action to fix it. I began reassessing what I've been putting into my body to start and considered the fact that I've been going out for drinks with the girls/Eric almost every night to "clear my head" which leads to most mornings being jump-started with a big cup or two of java never mind the fact that I haven't been eat well. It's got me feeling anxious, tired, aggressive, moody, and it's absolutely not what I need for myself in times like these. From working at a local health food store, I learned that certain foods can contribute to stress, while others can help ease it. Thus, last night I commenced further research. After surfing various websites and the good old wikipedia, I didn't learn much new other than interesting facts about coffee, sugar, alcohol, bad foods, etc, but I did, however, come to the confirmation that these things just aren't going to help me right now. As I've always known, these things are only meant to be enjoyed in pleasurable moderation so I've decided to give up three. 1.Coffee. Perhaps for good but definitely until Christmas morning (how can you not have coffee or other delectable goodies on Christmas, seriously). Then we'll see. . .2. Alcohol. Until New Year's Eve, then only on special occasions. . .3. Fried foods. This one should be the easiest as I'm not a huge fan but I've got two words: bar food. Even though I don't love it, after a few beers anything tastes great in which case I can easily devour a plate of fries, and no, you can't have any. This too should be for good. So, wish me luck! I'm sure I'll need it at least for a few days. Cheers to tea!

The Taunton Antiques Center
What better way to commence blogging. . . I introduce, The Taunton Antiques Center, my favorite vintage thrifting destination of all time!!! Located at 19 Main Street in Taunton, Massachusetts, the Taunton Antiques Center is three sprawling floors of pure treasure-hunting. They've recently acquired a new vintage dealer, Pam, who's got some of the most outrageous vintage at lower prices. I can easily spend hours of my time on a rainy day just roaming around over again, picking, choosing, and digging through all the hidden gems this place has to offer. There's also a thrift store section in the upstairs front end of the establishment where vintage floral button-downs and dresses can be found at 2 and 4 dollars! I put that killer lamp on lay-a-way while I was there and I may be back sooner than later for that owl napkin holder. Hope you all get there soon!
